My Goodreads Giveaways Obsession

In the past few months, I’ve been super obsessed and pretty lucky with Goodreads Giveaways. I’ve won several great books including:

Today, I am BEYOND EXCITED because I won The Prisoner’s Wife by Maggie Brooks!! It’s coming out in May, and it sounds amazing!

Inspired by the true story of a daring deception that plunges a courageous young woman deep into the horrors of a Nazi POW camp to be with the man she loves.

In the dead of night, a Czech farm girl and a British soldier travel through the countryside. Izabela and prisoner of war Bill have secretly married and are on the run, with Izzy dressed as a man. The young husband and wife evade capture for as long as possible–until they are cornered by Nazi soldiers with tracking dogs.

Izzy’s disguise works. The couple are assumed to be escaped British soldiers and transported to a POW camp. However, their ordeal has just begun, as they face appalling living conditions and the constant fear of Izzy’s exposure. But in the midst of danger and deprivation comes hope, for the young couple are befriended by a small group of fellow prisoners. These men become their new family, willing to jeopardize their lives to save Izzy from being discovered and shot.

The Prisoner’s Wife tells of an incredible risk, and of how our deepest bonds are tested in desperate times. Bill and Izzy’s story is one of love and survival against the darkest odds. (Goodreads)

This has been on my TBR for a while, and is one of my favorite genres, so I am eagerly anticipating it’s arrival.

How about you? Do you ever enter Goodreads Giveaways? Have you ever won anything amazing? 🙂

  1. About 15 years ago i won and reviewed a lot of books on LibraryThing, but life intervened and I signed off the list. I haven’t won any Goodreads giveaways despite being a regular reviewer.

  2. I only ever won one goodreads giveaway and the book never showed up :/ It was The Prince of Broadway. I was so excited I finally won something but it never came. After waiting a few months, I clicked “I never received my book” and it said it would be resent but it still never came. I couldn’t figure out how to get a tracking number for it, and I looked everywhere. It was really disappointing. I work in a grocery store part-time and saw the book on sale there, and I was so disgusted by how the giveaway was handled, I decided not to buy it.
