Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.
This Week’s Topic is: Books I Bought/Borrowed Because They Had an Intriguing Cover
I’m so guilty of judging a book by it’s cover. I mean, isn’t that why they make amazing covers? To appeal to potential readers. As a woman who loves to browse at the bookstore and library, I am often drawn to books, initially, because of a captivating cover.
Here are some recent (and a few not so recent) books that I initially chose because I found the cover striking. I’ve read all but two of these books, and, luckily, the stories were just as fabulous as the covers!

Well, there you have it. What book covers have captivated you? Have you ever bought or borrowed a book solely based on the cover? Comment below!!
Definitely some amazing covers here!

I liked it. It is a slow start, but the middle to end are great, and the siren world is really creative and interesting.

You’re not alone at all! I think all of our eyes are drawn to interesting covers, whether they be creepy, beautiful, whimsical, colorful, etc. While I love a good cover, I rarely pick up a book just based on the cover – the story’s premise has to be appealing, too.
Happy TTT!

I am also a giant sucker for beautiful, interesting covers. I often will purchase a book just based on that alone. Sometimes it pays off, other times not as much.

So many great covers! My eye definitely keeps being drawn back to Red Hood every time I see it. Think I might cave and finally add it to my TBR 😂

I just finished Damsel by the same author and had mixed feelings about it. That cover drew me in too! 🙂

It’s really good! I love your list! What did you think of Bone Crier’s Moon? I’ve been debating that one.

That’s one of the only books on my list that I haven’t read 🙂 But I’ve heard pretty good things about it, so I’m excited to give it a try
