The Anonymous Bookaholics Tag

Het there! I was nominated by the fabulous Ivana at Books and Prejudice (love that name!) for the Anonymous Bookaholics tag. Ivana’s blog is fabulous, and I encourage you to head on over and check it out! I’m not sure where this tag originated, but if you do, please let me know.

Here we go!

1. What do you like about buying new books?

Well, I guess everything!

I love the anticipation of possibly finding my next favorite read. I love the feeling of holding a new book in my hand. I love the new book smell (unless it’s an e-book, then smelling it is just strange).

2. How often do you buy new books?

All the time. hahaha! I would say I buy new books every week to two weeks. Two weeks is pushing it though. 🙂

3. Bookshops or online book shopping: which do you prefer?

I love walking around bookshops, but I prefer buying online. Weird, right? Usually at a bookstore, I enjoy looking at everything, but I get overwhelmed. There’s so much to look at and so many things I want to buy that I just buy nothing. Online book shopping is more accessible and manageable for me.

4. Do you have a favourite bookshop?

I like Symposium Books which is a cool bookstore in Providence, Rhode Island. It’s only a town over from where I live. In my town, there is a small used bookstore called Twice Told Tales, and I frequent that as well.

5. Do you pre-order books?

Sometimes, especially if it is an author that I love or a book I’m really excited about.

6. Do you have a monthly buying limit?

No. There are some months that I barely buy any books, and others, like May, where I spend over $100. It more depends on my mood and desire to spend money. I feel like if I put a limit, I would never abide by it.

7. How big is your wish list?

Ha! Ummm – big. There are so many books that I want, and I just keep adding to the pile. It’s all good, though. I’m sure I’ll get them all eventually! lol

8. Which three books from your wish list do you wish to own right now?

Well, there you have it! I think it’s fairly obvious that I have a love of (or possibly an addiction to) books! No surprise there! lol 😉

  1. I agree with the bookstore/online shopping! I love bookshops but there’s just so many books its overwhelming, whereas online you know what you want and you’re less likely to get distracted and spend looooads more than you meant to haha

  2. Loved reading this! My book wishlist is also really long and I really want to read The Priory of the Orange tree! I agree completely with you about bookshops/ordering online. I love browsing and seeing what they have in but usually purchase online.

  3. This is such a fun tag!! I’m in the middle of The Priory of the Orange Tree. I have the audiobook, and it’s amazing (and really long). I loved reading your answers 🥰

    1. Thanks so much! The Priory od the Orange Tree sounds so good, and I’ve heard fantastic things about it from fellow book bloggers. I need to get to it soon!! 🙂
