  • Come up with 7 questions for the people you nominated.

The Questions:

Tell us more about your blog. What motivated you into starting your own blog?

I love to read, but, unfortunately there aren’t many people in my life (anymore) that are as passionate about reading as I am. After I left my career as a high school English teacher, I realized that the thing I missed most about the job was talking about books. My blog is a way to connect with others who share my life-long passion for reading.

What inspires you to keep on blogging or writing?

Well, I’ve been blogging for less than six months, so I’m just getting into the groove. lol I enjoy writing and sharing my opinions, and learning to navigate the blogosphere is fun!

Of the blog pieces you’ve written, what do you like or love the most?

I like doing the Author Spotlight interviews because I get to connect with authors that I enjoy. I also like doing tags and reviews. Basically, any post where I can gush about good books is exciting.

What movie or book best depicts your life story?

This is a fantastic question! Right now, I’m going with The Floor is Lava because, with three kids, three dogs, and a remote-working husband, I can’t walk across any floor in my house without stepping on something that either hurts or is gross.

Floor Is Lava' Casting: How to Get on Netflix's New Reality Show

But if you know a movie or book about a forty-something happily married woman with three kids, three dogs, who loves to read and garden (even though she hates the sun), feels slightly harried and anxiety-ridden all of the time, and quit her twenty-year career as a teacher, it might have been written about me.

How did you cope/how are you coping with the lockdowns and the restrictions?

I feel like I’m doing ok. I’m an introvert and a homebody, so I don’t mind staying home. Plus, I have school-age kids, so I was busy with their distance learning.

My state is one of the few states in America that is doing okay (Rhode Island), and we are slowly opening. I feel way more anxious during this transition phase than I was when we were confined to our homes.

What are three things you’ve learned while in quarantine?

  1. I like dogs better than people.
  2. The teachers at my daughters’ elementary school are amazing.
  3. Always have extra toilet paper in the house in case of an emergency.

Give one piece of advice to those who want to start their own blogs.

Make connections! The best part of blogging is meeting and chatting with other book lovers. I’ve made so many new book blog friends, and I’m grateful. Comment on other blog’s, interact on Twitter (I’m still not great at this. Twitter is an enigma.) and other social media.

Tag Time!

My Questions:

  1. What’s one thing everyone should know before starting a blog?
  2. What is your favorite genre?
  3. Which minor character or sidekick do you wish had their own book?
  4. What movie or book best depicts your life?
  5. How do you organize/display your books and book merch?
  6. If you could interview any author, who would you choose?
  7. What is you favorite trope?

  1. My daughter LOVES the floor is Lava – it seems to be on repeat somewhere in my house lately 🙂

I love talking to other book bloggers too and your blog is a favourite of mine 🙂

  2. Ha ha! Yes, we all learned to keep emergency toilet paper on hand, right?? 😂

  3. “But if you know a movie or book about a forty-something happily married woman with three kids, three dogs, who loves to read and garden (even though she hates the sun)” ~ so you totally just described me with one exception ~ I only have one dog. LOL!
