The ABC Book Challenge: A

Hey there! I hope you’re having a great day! I’ve seen this book challenge on many other blogs including Misty’s Book Space, Stephen Writes, and Ya On My Mind and thought I’d give it a go. Basically, each post consists of memorable reads that start with one letter of the alphabet as well as books I want to read that start with the same letter.

What a fun way to look back on all of the fabulous books I’ve read and to look ahead at books I’d like to read in the future!

Each week, I’ll post one letter in the ABC challenge, starting today!

Memorable Titles That Start With the Letter “A”

Among the Beast and Briars is one of my most recent reads. It’s a fabulous book that I highly recommend if you like fairy tale-esque stories.

I’m definitely going to read more books by this author! I loved her style.

The Awakening doesn’t come out until November, but I was lucky enough to snag an ARC through Netgalley.

Nora Roberts is my most-read author, and this is the 74th book I’ve read by her (Don’t judge! lol). It’s a wonderful start to what promises to be a fantastic series.

Angels Fall is one of the first Nora Roberts books I read, and I loved it! Roberts is the queen of romantic suspense, and Angels Fall is one of her best. It’s well-paced, has great characters, and is super immersive.

Aurora Rising is an action-packed sci-fi adventure with awesome characters and a lot of twists and turns. This is one of the most unique stories I read this year.

Plus, that cover is everything!!

Article 5 – I read this years ago when I was in a huge YA dytopia mood. I loved Ember’s journey, and the dystopian world was scarily fascinating.

If you like ya dystopias with a bit of teen angst and romance mixed in, then this is the book for you.

After Darkness is the first book blog tour I ever signed up for, and I loved the story. Humans, cyborgs, dystopian world, and a great love story!

I admit, this is another book that I wanted to read solely based on the cover and title. Luckily, the story is just as interesting!

All Scot and Bothered – I initially was drawn to the title of this book – so tongue-in-cheek! Plus, I love Kerrigan Byrne’s historical romances, and this story is no exception!

Cecelia is one of my favorite heroines. She’s smart, independent, and loyal, and she doesn’t buckle to societal pressures. This has an interesting mystery, excellent characters, and the romance os positively swoon-worthy!

The Assassin’s Blade is a collection of five novellas in the Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas. Each story gives context into the life of Celaena before pre-Throne of Glass.

This is one of my all-time favorite series by one of my all-time favorite authors, so I absolutely had to include it in my list.

Books on My TBR that Start With the Letter “A”

Ash Princess has been on my TBR for a while. It sounds like a great story, and I even bought it!

As much as I think I’ll love it, other book commitments keep getting in the way. Someday, though, I’ll definitely get to it!

Afterlife is by Julia Alvarez, and I love her stories. This is the first adult novel she’s written in fifteen years, and I’ve heard so many wonderful things about it!

I read and loved How the Garcia Girls Lost Their Accents and In the Time of the Butterflies, so I’m sure I’ll love this one too!

Aurora Burning is the second book in the The Aurora Cycle series, and I loved the first book!

I’ve heard many good things about this one, though many readers didn’t like the end. Now, I’m a little afraid to read it. Have you read it? Should I?

All Boys Aren’t Blue is one of my newer TBR additions. It sounds like a poignant memoir about George M. Johnson’s life as he explores his sexuality and his identity.

A friend of mine recently read this and raved about it. Now, I’m on the wait list at my library. Fingers crossed I get it soon!

Thanks for reading my first ABC Book Challenge! Have you read or do you plan on reading any of these? Which books are on your “A” list? Comment below!

  1. Love this! I can’t wait to read Among the Beasts and Briars! Ashley Poston is amazing, I highly recommend both the Heart of Iron duology and the Once Upon a Con series 🙂
And AURORA RISING! I’M SO GLAD YOU LIKED IT, YAY! Personally, I thought Aurora Burning was just as good, even though the ending seemed to destroy everything that I held dear, but at this point, I think it’s just a theme with anything that Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff write together. It’s 100% worth continuing the series.

    1. Thanks for the recommendations! I’ll definitely add Poston’s books to my TBR. I love her writing style!
And you convinced me! I really enjoyed Aurora Rising, and I’m curious to see where the story goes. I’m just worried it’s going to destroy me. lol

  2. I’ve read the two Nora Roberts books and All Boys Aren’t Blue, but I still need to find books for some of the letters at the end of the ABC 😀

  3. Love this idea for a post! I really need to read Aurora Rising! All boys aren’t blue has also been on my tbr list for a while. I’ve added a few to my list as Awakening and Among the beasts and briar sound really good. Thanks for sharing 🙂

  4. I read Aurora Rising early this year, and read Aurora Burning soon after! The romance in the sequel got on my nerves to be honest, but the ending was killer, the worst cliff-hanger I’ve ever read. I can’t wait for the next book!

  5. Ooh what a fun idea! I’ve only done an ABC Reading Challenge where I try to read a book with a title that starts with each letter.
