Book Haul: July 2020

Hey there! Thanks for stopping by! I had an awesome reading month this month, and a great book haul as well. In total, I hauled 24 books and read 21!

I finally read Six of Crows and really don’t know why I waited so long. I absolutely loved it! I also read House of Earth and Blood and OH MY WORD I’M STILL PROCESSING!!! This book just further solidifies my opinion that SJM IS THE QUEEN!! I’ll talk about them further in my monthly wrap-up post. 🙂

Now, let’s take a look at this month’s fantastic haul!

Netgalley ARCs:

I’ve read all but Eternal Darkness, Night Shine, and The Princess Knight, but I just received them this week. I plan to read them within the next week, but first I have to read These Feathered Flames.

From the Author:

I read and enjoyed all of these books! Subversive is a romantic fantasy, The Underground is a dystopian romance, Switchback is a contemporary romance, and Soothsayer is a historical romance. As you know by now, I am a sucker for a good romance!

Purchases:

I’ve read Crooked Kingdom and started An Ember in the Ashes, but I haven’t read any of my other purchases yet. Which do you recommend I read next?

Freebies:

I haven’t read either of these but both had an interesting premise. Plus, they were free!

The Renegade's Heart (The True Love Brides Book 1) by [Claire Delacroix]
Seeker’s World by [K. A. Riley]

Well, there you have it. I had another great book month, and I can’t wait to see what next month brings!

How was your month? Read or receive any good books? Comment below! 🙂

  1. Great haul! I love, love, loved the Six of Crows duology! Must admit I did cry at the end of it! 🙈 Haven’t got around to reading Crescent City yet but the book is sitting on my shelves just waiting for me! Looking forward to Among The Beasts and Briars, the blurb sounds fab!

    1. Among the Beasts and Briars was a pleasant surprise for me. Ii’s a new to me author, and I really enjoyed it! I cried at the end of Crooked Kingdom and even more during the last 100 or so pages of Crescent City. 🙂 🙂 They both got me all in the feels!

  2. Wow, so many great books added to your TBR! My reading month went really well in July, I ended up reading 15 books. I shocked myself honestly.

      1. I really loved Don’t Touch my Hair by Emma Dabiri and Mexican Gothic by Silvia Moreno-Garcia. They were both just fantastic in totally different ways.

    1. House of Earth and Blood is great! The first 150 pages is a LOT of info, but the characters and story are really well done! Definitely one of my favorite SJM books. 🙂

      1. I’ve been hesitant about YA fantasy because they often have a lot of romance (which I struggle with), but her books get such great reviews, I really must jump in and give one a try.

    1. Right! I loved the characters, and the story was clever – really well-layeres. I felt like I was reading the YA fantasy version of a cross between Ocean’s 11 and Gangs of New York. 🙂
