My Challenges:
Summer Reading Challenge 2020 – I started Hundreds and Thousands of Books‘ challenge last month and have completed 4 more categories. For “A Book Set In Space,” I read Starlight Seized, and for “A Book Set in the Past,” I read Highland Treasure. For “A Book Released in 2020,” I read Court of Bitter Thorn, and for “A Book Set Abroad,” I read Accidentally in love. So, I think I’m making good progress on this one. 🙂
How was your month? Did you read anything fan-tabulous? Comment below! I’d love to chat!
August technically consists 5 books.
All because I finally finished Anna Karenina- started it a few years before August. And, started Bleak House, which I am still in the middle of. As for actual books I started and finished in August is the entire Shades of Magic seres- I heard they made a sequel of that trilogy (thinking of actually reading those); however I prefer paperback over hardback
Wow! You had an impressive month, especially with Anna Karenina & Bleak House! Good for you! I’ve heard a ton about the Shades of Maigc series. It sounds interesting!
Many of the my classics are impressive- none of them took me an entire year to finish. When I was in college, only had time to read classics in between semesters.
Anna Karenina, Les Misérables, Hunchback of Notre Dame, Oliver Twist, David Copperfield, Nicholas Nickleby, Tale of Two Cities, Great Expectations, A Christmas Carol, Don Quixote, and Illiad/Odyssey- I read them all.
Still working on Bleak House. What is left on my shelf for old classics belong to Hard Times, Gulliver’s Travels, Kidnapped, and the intimidating War and Peace.
Shade of Magic- it is a character-driven series with lots of suspense, plot twists, magic, and of course, 18th century London. This world is incredible- broken up into four parallel but very different London, the new language, etc…..
That’s so awesome, you read so much! I’ve lost my drive for reading this year for some reason, it’s been really frustrating and I can’t seem to get it back, so I’m so excited for other people who seem to be devouring stories like they can’t get enough. 🙂 Awesome wrap up!
Thanks so much, and that stinks about your reading slump. I hate when that happens!
oooh what do my eyes spy – a GA AIKEN novel. Did you enjoy it?
~ Corina | The Brown Eyed Bookworm
I did! It’s the first book in The Scarred Earth series. I was approved for the second book, The Princesss Knight, on Netgalley, so I binged both books. lol I liked both of them! 🙂
Awesome, I love her books and the books under her penname Shelly Laurenston 😍
These were the first I read by the author. I didn’t even know it was a pen name. lol I’ll definitely check out her other books. Do you have a fave?
I do 😂 Bear Meets Girl, but it’s part of a series. She has one long shifter series as Laurenston, and a dragon shifter series as GA Aiken, which is set on the same continent as her new Scarred Earth series.
Innteresting! I’ll definitely check them out!!
Wow! You can read books like no body’s business! What were your reading goals for 2020? How much have you accomplished?!
My goal was 100 books, but I upped it to 150 since I’ve been reading so much! lol I’ve surpassed the goal and have read 198. I’ve never read so much before, but between starting the blog and the pandemic, I’ve had a lot of time and opportunity. 🙂
198!? That’s crazy! So, yeah, I think the pandemic was helpful in some ways, and that was definitely one. Nice work!
Thanks! It’s one of the few positives that came out of the pandemic for me – starting this blog and reading more. lol
Omg I’m so impressed! You read loads and there are lots of books here I want to read. I love the sound of spoiler alert, fable and where dreams descend
Fable is one of my favorite reads of the year. I absolutely loved it!! Where Dreams Descend and Spoiler Alert were great too, but Fable…OMG! So good!!
I’ve heard a lot of good things about it recently!
Oh my gosh, 25 books!!!! Congratulations!!! And also such great books!!! I really need to read where dreams descend and spoiler alert!!!
Thank you! 🙂 Where Dreams Descend and Spoiler Alert are so good! I hope you like them when you get to them. 🙂
You had an AWESOME month!! Way to go. I hope that September is just as good to you reading-wise.:-)
Thanks! I hope you have a great reading month too!
Thank you!
I love seeing all the books you read this month! Lots of them are on my TBR, so hopefully I’ll get to some of them soon. I haven’t yet read any of them, but I’m most impressed by all the reviews you wrote!! I haven’t been motivated to write them lately.
Thanks so much! I’ve been on a roll lately with reading and writing reviews, that’s for sure! I’ve had a lot more free time lately, which helps. lol You have a lot going on with homeschooling and the hurricane. It must be tough to find time for yourself!
What a great month!
Very much so! 🙂
