Hex, Love, and Rock & Roll is an intriguing start to Kat Turner’s Coven Daughters series. The story focuses on Helen, a dynamic protagonist with a complicated life. On the verge of bankruptcy, she is desperate to make ends meet. When she discovers her witch powers, she hopes that she can use them to save her floundering business and pass good fortune onto her favorite British rock star. She never expects to hex the man and set off a chain of events that puts both of them in terrible danger. But a power-hungry cult has their sights set on Brian, and Helen and Brian must break the hex and expose the cult before it’s too late.
I loved the romance between Helen and Brian! With a vulnerable teenage daughter and new career ambitions, Brian has a lot on his plate. But when Helen enters his life complete with secrets and a whole paranormal world that he knows nothing about, Brian knows his life will never be the same.
Helen and Brian are drawn to each other. However, though they are instantly attracted to each other, secret cults, manipulative antagonists, curses, trust issues, and more stand in their way. It is interesting to see their chemistry-filled relationship deepen and develop throughout the story.
A well-paced and well-written book filled with curses, witches, cults trying to take over the world, unexpected twists and turns, and some spicy romantic scenes, Hex, Love and Rock & Roll will appeal to readers who enjoy steamy paranormal romance.
