My Review:

Heir of Fury begins, for Roxanne, three years after the conclusion of Heir of Doom. However, only three weeks have passed back in the human world. Roxanne is Remo’s familiar and, powerless to refuse his commands, must capture and bring him vessels to help with his plan of world domination.

Though Roxanne is finally able to return to Earth, she has only a few weeks away from Remo and must return with more vessels. During this time, she tries to find a way to thwart Remo’s plans, end his control over her, and protect her friends and the world from Remo’s evil clutches. This proves difficult since she is Remo’s familiar and can only reveal and do what Remo wants.

Like the first two books in the series, this story is filled with plenty of plot twists, action, and suspense. You never know what might happen next, who Roxanne should trust, or what kind of danger she might face. There are several shocking betrayals and losses throughout the book that I did not expect! The unpredictability of the plot is one of the strengths of the novel. I love the action-packed, drama-filled story and how Roxanne continues to be a fierce protagonist.

Roxanne is smart and brave, and she is loyal to a fault. She has come a long way since the beginning of this series, and I feel like she understands herself and others more as the series progresses. She is no longer confused, unaware, and unable to figure out peoples’ motivations. Instead, she is sure, strong, and self-sacrificing. She also has a love interest that shows an entirely different part of her personality. I enjoyed this aspect of the story and thought the romance was a calming addition to a tense, suspenseful, and violent story.

I enjoyed the conclusion to the series and LOVED the epilogue where we find out where Roxanne’s life has taken her years after the conclusion of the story. After the tragedy, loss, violence, and betrayal that Roxanne endures, I so wanted to see her happy ending, and the author did not disappoint! Thanks so much to Jina S. Bazzar for a copy of the book in exchange for my honest review.

Rating:

Favorite Parts:

  • The unpredictability. I never knew where Roxanne’s story was going to take her!
  • The romance, of course! I’m a sucker for a good romance! lol
  • The world-building and character development is dynamic and vivid.

Recommendations:

This is the third book in the series and is not a standalone, so I would recommend reading the first two books in the series before you read this one.
