Hi there! Happy Saturday! A while back, I was tagged by Ahaana @ Windows to Worlds, the creator of this tag, and it looks like a lot of fun! willow: a book with a character you can’t help but fall in love with

I definitely have ACOTAR on the brain this week! In anticipation of the new release A Court of Silver Flames, I’m doing a reread of the series, and I’m falling in love with RHYSAND all over again. I’m currently reading A Court of Mist and Fury, which is my favorite of the series, and I’ve already swooned several times. lol Rhysand is definitely one of my favorite book boyfriends!

champagne problems: a book with a broken relationship

In If the Sun Never Sets, the main characters haven’t seen each other in years, not since a terrible break-up. It’s one of my favorite second-chance romances, but their relationship is very broken, and the couple has to face the past, lies, feelings of betrayal, and more before they can move on.

gold rush: a book you love with all your heart

I feel like I can’t stop talking about how much I love The Song of Achilles. It is such a wonderful and powerful read, and I just adored the writing and the love story. Though I just read it a couple of months ago, I fully intend to reread it soon!

’tis the damn season: a book in which the character reconnects with their family/hometown

In Subversive, Peter Blackwell returns home after many years away. As the only wizard the town has ever produced, Peter seems haunted by his past and his life in Endicott Mills. As the story progresses, he examines his past and reconnects with people from his hometown.

tolerate it: a book with a suffering relationship

The relationship between Fable and her father leaves a lot to be desired. Abandoned and left to fend for herself in her early teens, Fable had to grow up fast. Fable and Saint have a complicated and confusing relationship, and it suffers tremendously over the years.

no body, no crime: a book about murder

The two main characters in The Devil in Her Bed are brought together when investigating the murder of a woman they both know. I love the Goode Girl series, and this steamy historical romance is excellent!

happiness: a book that’s an old favourite, but you just can’t relate to anymore

It’s more the author than the story, but I just can’t relate to this series anymore. I put all of my books an merch away and barely even talk about the books anymore because I can’t stand the author.

dorothea: a book featuring an old (or strong) friendships

The two main characters in this contemporary romance are long-time best friends. They have an amazing and close relationship, and I loved watching it grow into something more!

coney island: a book that made you cry // completely destroyed you

I’ve mentioned this on the blog before, but House of Earth and Blood DESTROYED me! There’s one scene in particular that really got to me. The scene made me think about how much I would give to be able to talk to my mom one more time, and it kind of devastated me. I still can’t talk about the story without getting a bit chocked up.

ivy: a book that was an unexpected favourite

Twelfth Knight’s Bride is the first book I read by E. Elizabeth Watson, and I loved it!! It’s such a wonderful historical romance, and the enemies-to-lovers relationship is fantastic!! After reading the book, I went in search of other romances by Watson. 🙂

cowboy like me: a book about thieves, or criminals

Well, my choice for this one is probably not a shock. I named my blog after a favorite song from the musical, I talk about the book/musical on the blog A LOT, and I even have several tattoos related to the book. 🙂

I can’t help it. I love Les Miserables!!!

Jean Valjean is my all-time favorite criminal. I feel like Les Miserables is one of those stories where you are rooting for the criminal (Jean Valjean) and hoping that the law (Javert) fails in its quest.

long story short: a book that made up your childhood

This is totally going to age me, but I was so obsessed with the Sweet Valley High series when I was a kid! I think I read at least the first 30 or so books in the series – some twice!! lol

marjorie: a book with a moving message

The Underground is a great YA dystopia that deals with powerful and moving messages, some of which include grief, survivor’s guilt, building and ending relationships, and finding oneself. I enjoyed learning more about the characters and how they dealt with new experiences, old hurts, and more.

closure: a series in which you NEED to read the next book

I’ve read the first two books in After Darkness, an amazing sci-fi/dystopia series, and I can’t wait to read the third!! It’s such an immersive and fascinating story, and I love the characters!!!

evermore: the perfect conclusion to an extremely long (but worth it) series

Fire Storm is the final book, Book 12, in The Elements of Kamdaria series, and it is a great conclusion to the series! I love Talise, the protagonist, and her journey is amazing. Her story culminates in this epic battle that I had been anticipating for a while.
