As a little girl, Lucy Morris was obsessed with myths and legends. She regularly escaped into the adventures of her imagination, with characters who were strong and fierce. Now fully grown she finds she can’t forget the stories plaguing her mind and has to write them down. A book by Lucy Morris will sweep you away on a historical adventure filled with vivid characters haunted by their pasts. I’m so pleased to be on the blog tour and share my review for A Nun for the Viking Warrior by Lucy Morris. This is a wonderful historical romance with great characters and messages!

Amée is dynamic protagoinst. She is smart and brave, and even though she hasn’t had the best life, she remains hopeful. I love her fighting spirit and how she never gives up. Amée knows that she can be used as a pawn, and she does everything in her power to maintain some autonomy. She wants to be in charge of her life and not have to bow to the whims of a man, especially a man like her father, who has never made her feel accepted and loved. Much like Jorund, Amée wants to find a purpose, and she longs to find a place where she belongs.

Jorund is eager for a life change. After years as a warrior, he hopes to settle down, marry, raise children, and live in peace. He wants to live an honorable life, but his past haunts him. However, like Amée, Jorund is a fighter. He is not one to give up, especially on his dreams and future. I love how insightful and perceptive he is and how hard he tries to make his dreams a reality.

The romance between Amée and Jorund is wonderful. Complete strangers from different cultures, this pair has a lot to learn about each other, which proves difficult at times. However, even though they are very different, they also have a lot in common. They are caring and compassionate leaders who are searching for purpose, and they each have complicated and toxic fathers who have detrimentally affected their feelings of worth. I like how this couple slowly grows closer and learns to trust each other and how they teach each other about love, acceptance, and hope. Sometimes sweet, sometimes steamy, and always filled with chemistry, their love story is well-paced and developed.

I think this is a great story for readers who like historical romances with well-developed characters, great messages about love and starting over, and a wonderful love story. Thanks so much to Rachel’s Random Resources and Lucy Morris for a copy of the book in exchange for my honest review.
