Stacking the Shelves: April 16, 2022

Stacking The Shelves is a weekly meme hosted by Marlene of Reading Reality. It’s all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, books for review from authors, NetGalley, or publishers,  gifts or books you won. If you click on a cover, it will take you to Goodreads.

Let’s check out some of the AMAZING books I received this week!

eBooks from NetGalley & Publishers:

So far, I’ve read Impossible. This is the fifth book in The Phoenix Club series, and it’s probably my favorite in the series. I got an advanced copy of For the Throne yesterday, and I’m beyond excited!! I loved For the Wolf last year, and For the Throne is one of my most anticipated releases. I don’t usually write to publishers requesting books, but I did for this one, and I lucked out! Special thanks to Angela at Orbit Books for the book!! Love Liana, Sincerely, Kade sounds like a cute and (possibly) steamy contemporary romance, and Of Cages and Crowns I was approved for on NetGalley.

Book Mail:

I’m so thankful to Eloisa James for sending me a signed copy of Wilde in Love! This is the first book in the series, and it sounds so romantic! And I received Summer in Barefoot Bay from Forever Publishing. It has two books from the Barefoot Bay series and both sound great!

eBooks from the Author:

I read and LOVED Seeds of Sorrow. It’s a Hades and Persephone retelling, and it’s soooo good. I haven’t read the other two books yet, but they’re on my TBR for next week.

Purchases:

I purchased two books this week. A Touch of Darkness was on sale, and I bought it for under three dollars, and I loved Galatea and needed to add it to my Madeline Miller collection. I couldn’t resist! lol

Have you read any of these? Which books did you haul this week? Comment below!

  1. I’ve read a Touch of Darkness, and I’m sad to say that I absolutely detested that series. The main character is quite literally dumb as a box of rocks. Just weird decisions all around in the writing style / plot motivations / etc.

The Culled Crown’s cover is absolutely GORGEOUS, though.

  2. I’m quite excited for Impossible cos I’ve been wanting Ava’s story for a while now and I hope she gets the story she deserves 😍 But also, Ooh! I just saw Galatea in store yesterday and almost bought it but my friend dragged me out of there before I could check it out cos I had already bought *quite a few* books 😂 It looks so good though! Can’t wait to hear what you think of it cos I might have to go back and get it then!

    1. I LOVED Ava’s story!!! She is wonderful, and the romance is lovely. I think you’ll love it, Dini! I’ll let you know when I read Galatea. I love Madeline Miller, so I have a feeling I’ll enjoy it. lol
