Hi there! Happy Saturday and happy July! June went by in a flash, and the hot days are here in New England. I’m not a fan of heat or sun or humidity, so I’m spending quite a bit of time in my nice air conditioned house. Hopefully, we’ll have a break from the heat soon!
I had a decent reading month in June, though I feel like I’m in a little slump now. Not much is holding my interest, and I feel like I’ve slogged through some of my most recent reads. Luckily, I have a buddy read this weekend that I’m really excited about.

So far, I read Blood Price and A Governess Should Never Deny a Duke. I loved them both. And I won a physical copy of Blood Price, which I’m thrilled about! That cover is so gorgeous! I plan on reading A Shield of Fate and Ruin this week. It’s the third in Nicole Bailey’s Apollo Ascending series, and I adore these characters and their love stories!!
Book Mail:
I received a ton of amazing book mail from friends, authors, and publishers this moth! Dini @ Dini Panda Reads got me Book Lovers and Autora’s End, and Jennifer @ My Book Joy sent me My Killer Vacation. Thank you both for these amazing gifts! I’m excited to read all three!
Courtney McCaskill sent me a copy of What’s an Earl Gotta Do? (love that title!), and Darcy Burke sent me The Duke of Defiance, which I won in a giveaway. All of the other books came from publishers and book tours- thanks to Orbit Books, Forever Publishing, Entangled Publishing, TLC Book Tours, and Page One Media for these great reads!

Nope, haven’t read any of those
June was an incredible month: in terms of the books (combo of buying and library)
1. The Land of the Silver Apples- bought (but when I bought it, was hoping to buy the final book of that trilogy, but wasn’t in stock at the time)
2. Bookshop of the Broken-Hearted (was ready to read another Kindle book)
3. A Personal Librarian (in a way it counts, as I put it on hold on Libby)

In June, only read and finished three books, which included only one of those books: so below are the ones I read
1. Bookshop of the Broken-Hearted- the book, which finished my Goodreads goal
2. Sea of Trolls- I enjoyed it, explaining why I bought The Land of the Silver Apples (still waiting to buy the 3rd and final book)
3. Favorite Greek Myths- good way to read myths in a simple way (each one had an illustration at the beginning); it even has The Hadestown myth in there

Omg, what an awesome haul, Julie! I’m a wee bit jelly of your ARC list, especially seeing Olivia Dade’s, Chloe Gong’s and Ali Hazelwood’s books on there BUT I hope you enjoy them and I can’t wait to read your reviews 😍 I’ve also been feeling a bit slumpish or restless with my reading lately and I’ve not been enjoying as many books as I thought I would… So I’m really hoping our buddy read this weekend will kickstart some kind of excitement again! It reminds of The Scorpio Races and I read that so long ago (it makes me want to reread it) but it’s similar with the racing water horses except in Monsters Born and Made, they are a bit more monstrous and the world-building is more fantasy based. I’m enjoying it so far, I’m about 20% in.
