My Review:

Three Kisses, One Midnight is a fun and entertaining YA fantasy that follows three friends and their search for love during the Halloween season. Dubbed The Coven, Onny, Ash, and True decide to use a love potion. The book includes three stories written by three different authors, and all of the stories are interconnected.

The first story is my favorite, though they are all engrossing. It’s an enemies-to-lovers romance, which I always enjoy, and Onny and Byron are fantastic. Onny is a well-developed protagonist and probably the most layered of all the characters in the book. She is the one to make the love potion and convince her friends to use it. Onny has been crushing on a boy for a while and has grown frustrated by many missed opportunities. The love potion is Onny’s chance to finally gain Alexander’s attention. Of course, not everything goes according to plan, as Onny quickly realizes when her plans are thwarted by her rival Byron.

The second story is a friends-to-lovers romance that follows Ash, who likes his neighbor Cassidy but is too shy to tell her. They have a very sweet and gentle love story, and I thought Ash and Cassidy were the most likable of characters. The last story is about True and Orion. True is the skeptic of the bunch and is struggling with a recent heartache. When she meets Orion, however, True’s feelings change. They have a fun opposites-attract romance.

I like that the three stories, though connected are completely different and include a variety of romantic tropes. It’s like there’s something for every kind of ya romance reader. I also appreciated the great dialogue, fun banter, and messages about friendship. family, love, and more.

I may indeed prefer him to the centaur I was holding out for.

Recommendations:

I would definitely recommend this to readers who enjoy YA fantasy & romance. It does read a bit on the younger side of YA, though the characters are in high school.
