Goodreads Monday: King of Battle and Blood by Scarlett St. Clair

Goodreads Monday is a weekly meme where you chose a random book from your Goodreads TBR and show it off. This meme is hosted by Budget Tales Book Blog.

This week, I’m spotlighting a book that’s been on my Goodreads TBR since 2021. King of Battle and Blood sounds like such a swoon-tastic romantasy, which is my favorite genre! I recently received a copy of the book from my friend Dini for my birthday, and I’m hoping to read it in November. Let’s check it out!

About the Book:

Title: King of Battle and Blood

Author: Scarlett St. Clair

Series: Adrian X Isolde

Page Length: 368

Publication Date: Nov. 30, 2021

Publisher: Bloom Books

Synopsis: Their Union Is His Revenge.

Isolde de Lara considers her wedding day her death day. To end a years-long war, she is to marry vampire king, Adrian Aleksandr Vasiliev, and kill him.

But her assassination attempt is thwarted and Adrian threatens that if Isolde tries to kill him again, he will raise her as the undead. Faced with the possibility of becoming the thing she hates most, Isolde seeks other ways to defy him and survive the brutal vampire court.

Except it isn’t the court she fears most — it’s Adrian. Despite their undeniable chemistry, she wonders why the king — fierce, savage, merciless — chose her as consort.

The answer will shatter her world.

  1. i’ve heard about this book and it’s been on my tbr for sooo long, and i’ll definitely read it really soon (and that soon will be in the next 50 years because my tbr is sooo long hahaha)

p.s. i just posted my first blog post, so if you haven’t already, it would mean a world to me if you check it out!

  2. Yay! I hope you enjoy it, Julie 🙂 I ended up enjoying this one more than I thought I would—it served very similar FBAA (JLA) vibes but… IMHO, better. 😂 I can’t wait to hear what you think of it!
