Blog Tour Book Review: Stolen From the Demon Prince by Lauren Crowne

About the Book:

Title: Stolen From the Demon Prince

Author: Lauren Crowne

Series: Sins of the Blood War

Page Length: 312

Publication Date: Dec. 27, 2022

Synopsis: The demon prince is possessive, jealous, and determined to protect what is his.

Can the prince ever see me, a former fae slave, as his equal?
Or will he always see me as only a possession to protect?

The longer Leo and I are in the demon kingdom, the more obvious it becomes to both of us that it’s not safe for me to stay there with him. Demons want to take me from him at every turn, and rival factions are eager to use me as a pawn to hurt the prince.

When it seems impossible for us to be together, will the prince abandon his title, throne, and kingdom for me?
Or should I seek out the fae city and find a new home with my own kind?

Despite all of the forces working against us, deep down I know that the only home I’ve ever wanted was with him.

Unfortunately for me, there are demons who will refuse to let that happen.

All books in the Sins of the Blood War series contain spicy tension, deliciously steamy scenes, characters who talk (and curse) like adults, and occasional moments of violence. Leo’s a prince who can do whatever he wants, after all, and in this book, what he wants is her.

My Review:

Stolen From the Demon Prince is the second book in the Sins of the Blood War series, and it is as entertaining as the first. In it, Leo and Vera travel to the demon kingdom, which is an entirely different setting from the first book. It’s interesting to see the pair in this dangerous world, and since they are apart for some of the time, it’s fascinating to see how Vera adjusts to this completely different place while Leo unsuccessfully tries to maintain his distance from his father, his past, and more.

Vera has grown and changed a lot since the start of the series. As she works, fights, meets new people, and has a multitude of experiences (good and bad), Vera finds herself in a place where her safety is constantly threatened, and she becomes more aware of her role in Leo’s life and the complications that will arise because of it.

Leo has a lot of decisions to make, and though I didn’t always agree with his choices, I generally understood and sympathized with him. He struggles between his desires and his duty, and he can’t completely reject the throne for so many reasons. His father proves a manipulative and dangerous enemy. He’s the worst, and I can totally see why Leo tried to get as far away from him and his expectations. They are opposites in every way.

The book has some other new characters, and I’m seeing a love triangle that could jeopardize Leo and Vera’s relationship. Their feelings for and commitment to each other are put to the test throughout the story, and they spend quite a bit of time apart and not able to communicate. Plus, they both make some major mistakes, and lies, secrets, betrayals, and more plague the couple. Double plus, there’s a new, handsome male determined to show Vera how good they could be together, if she’d only give him a chance! Oh, and Leo has a connection to a gorgeous female that definitely changes things. I’m curious to see how all these relationships play out.

The story has a lot of action, excitement, and intrigue. It’s entertaining, and it ends on a cliffhanger that made me eager to see what’s in store for Leo and Vera next. Thanks to Inkslinger PR and Lauren Crowne for providing me with a copy of the book. All thoughts are my own.

About the Author:

Lauren Crowne writes sexy, funny, action-packed fantasy and paranormal romance, transporting readers into a world of fae, demons, wolf shifters, and more. You’ll want to root for her bold heroines and hot heroes, neither of which are afraid to fight for the ones they love. Sold to the Demon Prince is the first book in the Sins of the Blood War trilogy, with all three books following the same couple as they try to hold on to their passion for each other even when the world seems against them. When she isn’t writing, Lauren is addicted to drinking iced coffee, forcing her husband to watch funny TikToks, and traveling with her husband and three kids.

  1. After the first book a few days ago, I was slightly tempted to pick up the second book but I think I’m glad that I didn’t! I have a feeling the lack of comms and what’s shaping up to be a love triangle/square(?) would irritate me. 😂 Great review, Julie!
