About Me

Hi there! I’m Julie, and literature is my passion. I love to read, talk, and write about books. Classics, contemporary, fantasy, romance, young adult, sci-fi, poetry – they all rock!

I’ve always been an avid reader, which is why I sought a career as an English teacher. This gave me the opportunity to talk about books every day! From my career to my personal life, my world has always revolved around my love of books.

I taught high school English for eighteen years, helped create the curriculum in my district, and became a member of a national curriculum advisory board for an educational publishing company.

Though I loved teaching, it sure limited the amount of time I could spend reading for pleasure!

I moved on from teaching several years ago and now have all the time in the world to read. However, in the four years since I left the teaching profession, I found that I really miss talking to people about books.

I mean, my husband and kids can only take so much! 🙂

So, I started this blog, and now I can share my love of reading with other book-lovers.

What’s With the Name?

I named the site One Book More as a tribute to two of my favorite things – Reading & Les Miserables. One Day More is my favorite song from the musical, and I always want to get One Book More!

For fellow Les Mis lovers, here’s my favorite version of the song:
