Top 10 Tuesday: Spring 2020 TBR

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

The topic this week is: Spring 20202 TBR

1. Afterlife by Julia Alvarez

Julia Alvarez is one of my favorite all-time authors, so this book is at the top of my list. Her stories are beautifully constructed and immersive. I particularly love In the Time of the Butterflies and How the Garcia Girls Lost Their Accents.

Release Date: April 7

2. The Empire of Dreams by Rae Carson

This story is book 4 in the Fire and Thorns series, which I adored, so I am eagerly anticipating this novel. I’ll probably re-read the first three books in the series to refresh my memory – It’s been a while since I read them. Of course, that’s no real hardship!

Release Date: April 7

3. Ash Princess by Laura Sebastian

I downloaded this book a while ago and never read it. It’s now at the top of my TBR pile, and I am determined to read it this month. It sounds so good! I don’t know why I haven’t read it already.

The third book in the series came out recently, so fingers crossed I like this one. Then, I can binge the entire series!

This book was released in 2018.

4. Crave by Tracy Wolff

I’ve heard a lot of talk about this upcoming release, and it has piqued my vampire-loving curiosity. A human female attends a new academy with immortals, and she is inextricably drawn to the gorgeous and mysterious Jaxon. Hello! That’s a yes for me!

Release Date: April 7

5. Silent Kingdom by Rachel L. Schade

This is another book that has been on my TBR for a while. I bought it just a few weeks ago and am looking forward to starting it. It’s my favorite genre (of the moment – lol), and the cover intrigues me.

This book was published in 2018.

Keep an eye out for my upcoming review!

6. Highland Conquest by Heather McCollum

I received and ARC of this book from Netgalley and have just started it. I’m lovin’ it so far! It is immersive and intriguing right from the start. Plus, there’s a bunch of action, great dialogue, and some very hunky highlanders!

Release Date: April 28

7. Hello Summer by Mary Kay Andrews

Mary Kay Andrews is an amazing story-teller, and this new release is no different. It is a masterfully woven story!

I received an ARC of this from Netgalley, so keep an eye out for an upcoming review!

Release Date: May 5

8. Dark Skies by Danielle L. Jenson

Release Date: May 5

This is the second book in the Dark Shores series, and it is just as fantastic as the first book! I received an ARC from Netgalley and will post a review soon. Don’t worry if you haven’t read the first in the series. According to the author,

” You can start reading the series with DARK SHORES *OR* you can start reading with DARK SKIES! They are both starting points to the series that will converge in the third book!”

9. The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes by Suzanne Collins

It’s a Hunger Games spin-off, and I’m already obsessed!!! This story takes place during the 10th Hunger Games. It appears the plot focuses on a young pre-President Snow!

I’m already losing my mind!!!!

Release Date: May 19

10. The Prisoner’s Wife by Maggie Brooks

I won this in a Goodreads Giveaway, and I can’t wait to start it!

Based on a true story that happened during World War II, a woman, disguised as a young man, must keep up the charade after being imprisoned with her husband. I’ll post a review as soon as I finish!

Release Date: May 26

Runners-Up:

So, there you have it! I’m excited to read all of these books! How about you? Did any of these make your TBR list? Comment below and happy reading! 🙂
