Hey there! Happy January! I hope you’re having a great day! Today is book haul day, and I had a great haul this month. I received some great ARCs and books from authors, and I won a bunch of giveaways!! So cool!! Plus, I got an AMAZING book for Christmas that I ADORED! Seriously, when I finished reading it, I hugged the book. My kids gave me weird looks, but I didn’t care. The Song of Achilles is a gem of a story, and I am in complete love with it!
Let’s take a look at my fantastic December haul:
ARCs:
I received thirteen ARCs this month, and so far, I’ve read eight of them. Not too bad!! I really enjoyed Forbidden Heart, The Things We Leave unfinished, and Ancient Enforcer (sa-woon!)
From the Author:
I received and read all six of these great books! I’m so thankful to the authors for giving me copies of their books, and I recommend all of them!
The top three are the first books in a dark fantasy series. Faye and the City in the Sea is the second book in a young adult fantasy series. If We Were Perfect is the fourth book in Ana Huang’s new adult romance series, and Saving Verakko is part of a sci-fi romance series.
Giveaways:
A huge thanks to Avon/Harper Collins Publishers for hosting the Love in Lockdown Giveaway! I’m thrilled to have won five fantastic books – Postscript, If I Never Met You, Love in Lockdown, The Last Charm, and Strictly Come Dating!!! So far, I’ve read three of the five.
Excitingly, I also won Lords, Love, and Christmastide, a seven book historical romance anthology, in an Entangled Publishing giveaway!
I also won River Magic from a Storytellers on Tour Giveaway, and the book sounds fantastic! Thanks to Storytellers on Tour and the author for this beauty!
Finally, I won two Goodreads Giveaways – Fear of Fire and Shadows and Snowed in at the Ranch!
Gifts:
My husband got me both of these books for Christmas, and I LOVED The Song of Achilles!! It is fantastic and beautiful and poignant and just wonderful!
I’m not sure what his rationale was for gifting me The Drunken Botanist. It’s a cool book, but I don’t drink and am not super interested in the topic. I think he thought I’d like it since I love gardening?
Freebies:
I haven’t read any of these yet, but I never pass up a good freebie!!
Well, there you have it – It’s a pretty nice haul, I think! Have you read or do you want to read any of these? Comment below!!
Your hubby is a keeper! I love Rebecca Yarros, looking forward to seeing what you think of The Things We Leave Unfinished.
He really is. Today he got a delivery, and it was for me – a new Star Wars purse that’s on my Amazon wishlist. And right now he’s upstairs lecturing the kids about keeping their rooms cleaner. Love him!!! 🙂
I’m also excited to read Mr. Right Across the street. I hope you enjoy all these books.
Thank you! IT sounds so good!
I can’t wait to read Yarros’ book. I hope you enjoy it.
I finished it – so good! Heart-breaking and heart-warming at the same time.
ahh i’m so glad I stumbled upon your blog!!
That’s so nice! Thanks so much! 🙂
Well- didn’t have a book haul in December. For Christmas- did get the Harry Potter series, Singular Sensation: The Triumph of Broadway, and Man Who Invented Christmas (that one was for my dad and I).
Howl’s Moving Castle was the first book I read on the kindle
Yay! I know you were hoping for the Harry Potter series. That’s great! 🙂 Singular Sensation sounds like something you’ll enjoy too considering your love of musicals.
I haven’t read Howl’s Moving Castle. What did you think of it?
Also got Man Who Invented Christmas. However, didn’t get A Little Princess– wanted it for Christmas
Massive haul! I read Circe and loved it so now I HAVE to read Song of Achilles! Happy 2021! 😊
And I read The Song of Achilles and HAVE to read Circe! lol It was such a fantastic book and an awesome xmas gift! I hope you love when you read it!! Happy New Year! 🙂
I’ve not read any of these but this is an impressive haul!
Thanks! 🙂
I’ve heard good things of K.J. Sutton’s books, so I can’t wait to read them!
I enjoyed them – a bit darker than my normal read but really good!
