Valentine’s Day Book Tag

Happy Valentine’s Day! Today, I thought I’d do the Valentine’s Day Book Tag, which I saw this on I’m All Booked Up. It looked like a lot of fun, and I get to talk about some of my favorite reads. I believe the original creator of this tag is CC’s Books. Let’s check it out!

1. A Stand Alone Book You Love

A Far Wilder Magic by Allison Saft hasn’t even released yet, and I’ve already read it twice. I adore this YA Gothic fantasy and will be shouting about it for a while! It’s so unique and dark and romantic and atmospheric, and I loved every minute of it! Even though I have an ARC, I preordered a copy for my bookshelves.

Check out my review of A Far Wilder Magic!

2. A Dystopian Book You Love

I have no idea how many times I’ve read The Hunger Games – at least 20. lol This is one of my comfort reads, and I even bought copies of it so that I could teach it back when I taught high school English.

I even did a Top 10 Tuesday on the series: Reasons Why I Love The Hunger Games Series

3. A Book That You Love That No One Else Talks About

I loved Crownchasers by Rebecca Coffindaffer and even got a chance to interview the author!! This is the first book in a ya sci-fi duology, and I thought it was great. However, I didn’t see as much buzz about this one as I expected.

Check out my review of Crownchasers!

4. Favorite Book Couple

Ok, for those of you that know me, this is impossible. I read sooooo many romances, and I have a slew of book boyfriends and favorite couples. But, the first one I always think of is Rhysand and Feyre.

A Court of Mist and Fury is one of my favorite reads, and I love how Rhys and Feyre’s relationship develops in this book. They are definitely a swoon-worthy couple for me!

5. A Book That Other People Love But You Haven’t Read

The House in the Cerulean Sea – Why haven’t I read this already?!?

I own the book, I’ve heard amazing things about it, I love Klune’s other books, and I still haven’t read this one. I joined the Beat The Backlist Challenge this year, and this is one of the books I’m hoping to read.

6. A Book with Red on the Cover

I went to my bookshelf, and Mag Cabot’s No Offense stood out as the most red cover. This is the second book in the Little Bridge Island contemporary romance series, and it sounds super cute. I bought it after I read and enjoyed No Words, the third book in the series. Of course, I had to buy the first two book, as I have no shelf control! lol

Check out my review of No Words!

7. A Book with Pink on the Cover

How cute is this cover?

The Alice Equation is another one on my bookshelf that I haven’t read yet. I won it in a giveaway last year, and it’s been on my TBR for a while. Hopefully, I can get to it in 2022. It’s another hopeful for my Beat the Backlist Challenge!

8. You Were Given a Box of Chocolates: Which Fictional Character Gave Them to You?

I want to say Rhysand, but since I already used him for another prompt, I’m going to go with Leonel from Beneath Cruel Fathoms by Anela Deen. I loved his character, and some of the things he says are super swoon worthy!! Check out this scene:

He moved so fast she barely registered a single step before he hauled her into his arms. Her feet left the ground…his kiss was gentle. It was giving, not taking. It cherished her. Treasure, he called her in his language, and she sensed the true meaning in his tight embrace. He would never let her go. Neither would she. “I have missed you,” he said softly. “Everyday.”

9. It’s Valentines Day. What Book Would You Read?

I adored The Song of Achilles and would read it a thousand times if I could. It’s such a wonderful retelling, and the writing is so beautiful. Madeline Miller is one of the most gifted storytellers, and the love story in this one gets me every time I read it.

Check out some of my favorite lines from the book!

10. You’re in the Book Store. All of a Sudden You’re Struck with an Arrow by Cupid. What New Release will you love?

I just won How to Marry Keanu Reeves in a giveaway hosted by Forever Publishing, and it sounds like a wonderful contemporary romance. Plus, Keanu Reeves!

  1. You are not good for my tbr, lol. I already have so many books on the backlog but I also have no shelfcontrol and I’m really curious about those Meg Cabot books you were talking about. I really like her books, even if I haven’t read any in a couple of years. But I’m just on the romance track at the moment, so I’m really curious.

    1. I have no shelf control either! lol If you like her other books, I think you’ll enjoy this series. It’s a lighter contemporary romance, and there’s a lot of talk about books! lol
