Goodreads Monday is a weekly meme where you chose a random book from your Goodreads TBR and show it off. This meme is hosted by Budget Tales Book Blog.
This week, I’m spotlighting a witchy book I’ve seen on Instagram, a bunch. the Ex Hex by Erin Sterling is the first in the series, and it sounds like a fun contemporary romance. Let’s check it out!
About the Book:

Title: The Ex Hex
Author: Erin Sterling
Series: The Ex Hex #1
Page Length: 308
Publication Date: Sept. 28, 2021
Publisher: Avon
Synopsis: Nine years ago, Vivienne Jones nursed her broken heart like any young witch would: vodka, weepy music, bubble baths…and a curse on the horrible boyfriend. Sure, Vivi knows she shouldn’t use her magic this way, but with only an “orchard hayride” scented candle on hand, she isn’t worried it will cause him anything more than a bad hair day or two.
That is until Rhys Penhallow, descendent of the town’s ancestors, breaker of hearts, and annoyingly just as gorgeous as he always was, returns to Graves Glen, Georgia. What should be a quick trip to recharge the town’s ley lines and make an appearance at the annual fall festival turns disastrously wrong. With one calamity after another striking Rhys, Vivi realizes her silly little Ex Hex may not have been so harmless after all.
Suddenly, Graves Glen is under attack from murderous wind-up toys, a pissed off ghost, and a talking cat with some interesting things to say. Vivi and Rhys have to ignore their off the charts chemistry to work together to save the town and find a way to break the break-up curse before it’s too late.

I’ve read it and wanted to like it but couldn’t get into it. I feel like witchy books are hard for me lol.
lol – I hear that.
I’m about to read the second book in this series and really looking forward to it. Hope you enjoy this one when you get to it!
Thanks, Ali! I hope you enjoy book 2!
Ooh, I’ve had this one on my TBR for what feels like ages now 😂 I actually think Leslie has it on her TBR too so maybe… A possible buddy read? 😃
Totally!! That would be fun!
I really liked the second one in this series WAY MORE than I liked the first one. (just liked the characters dynamic in the second one better, i think.)
Good to know! I’ll check them both out. 🙂
