The Quarter Year Crisis Book Tag

Book Tag

Happy Monday! Today, I have a fun tag that I’ve seen on a bunch of blogs lately – The Quarter Year Crisis Book Tag. This was originally created by Roisin @Roisin’s Reading on YouTube, and it’s a look back on the first three months of the year. Can you believe we’re halfway through April already? I don’t know where the time went, but it’s fun to look back and see all the amazing books I’ve already been fortunate enough to read this year. Let’s get started!

How Many Books Have You Read So Far?

As of today, I’ve read 82 books. I’m a little behind from last year, but 82 is still great. Last year, my goal was to read a book a day. This year, I lowered that goal. I did it, but it was way too much pressure, and I don’t have as much free time this year as I did last year. I still read a ton, though! lol

Have you already found a book you think might be a 2023 favorite? If not, what was your favorite book you read that wasn’t quite five stars?

That’s way too hard to narrow down! I tend to pick favorites in specific genres. Here are some 5-star favorites.

Fantasy:

Historical Romance:

Contemporary Romance:

Any 1-star books / least favorite book of the year?

I haven’t had any 1-star reads this year, but I’d pick Fake Dates and Mooncakes. I loved the cover but did not enjoy the story.

Most Read Genres So Far

According to Storygraph, my most read genres are romance and fantasy. No surprise there! lol Young Adult was third.

A Book That Surprised You

The Bone Shard Daughter, without a doubt. I didn’t know much about this book or series before reading it, but a couple of my closest book friends loved it, so I decided to give it a shot. It was brilliant! I binged the entire trilogy and loved every book.

A book that’s come out in 2023 already that you want to read but haven’t yet?

Oh my word, there are so many, but here are four I already own and need to get to soon!!

One Goal You’re Succeeding At

Posting at least once a day. I used to post twice a day, but I cut back a bit. Now, I post either one or two depending on how much I’ve read and how busy I am. I’d like to post once a day for the rest of the year, but we’ll see what happens. I’m finding it a little tough juggling that and a new job.

One Goal You Need to Focus On

Not overextending myself. I tend to take on too much, and then I get overwhelmed. I have a hard time resisting books and saying no. lol

New to you Bloggers/Booktubers/ Bookstagrammers/Booktokers for 2023 you recommend?

Here are two bloggers that I;ve been loving lately!

I’m Tagging…
