18 thoughts on “Favorite Fantasy Reads for the First Half of 2023

  1. I loved the Bone Shard War too and am really looking forward to reading Immortal Longings and The Jasad Heir. I think my favourites would have to include Fourth Wing and Dark Water Daughter which were both brilliant.

    1. Oooh, both of those are on my TBR. The publisher is sending me a copy of Dark Water Daughter (hopefully this week), and I have a copy of Fourth Wing. I’ve heard great things about both!

  2. The top half of your list contain books I want to read or I need to read. I am familiar with 2 of the titles on the bottom half of the list. That being said, intriguing choices; which, means I need to take a closer look into those books.

  3. Fantastic choices! Most of these are books I’ve read or have on my TBR. 🙂 I loved Spellbound, Mysteries of Thorn Manner, and The Bone Shard War. I’m really looking forward to The Jasad Heir and Divine Rivals, as well. I’ve been on the fence about Immortal Longings because Gong’s writing has been hit or miss for me, but I’ll probably get it from the library. I’m glad to see you liked it.

    1. Thanks! I have a feeling you’re going to enjoy The Jasad Heir! Divine Rivals too. They’re both great reads. I generally like Gong’s work, especially because of the Shakespearean connections. She ties them in so well.

  4. Divine Rivals was amazing! I would put that one on my list and Fourth Wing.
