Top Ten Tuesday: Satisfying Book Series

Top Ten Tuesday

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

Today, the topic is Satisfying Book Series, and the first ones I thought of were all by Sarah J. Maas. Lol I adore all of her series, but I feel like I use them all of the time in lists like these, so today, I didn’t include any series by Maas. Those are just a given. lol Let’s check out 10 other series that I found satisfying.

1. The Drowning Empire

A stunning tale of magic, mystery, and revolution in which the former heir to the emperor will fight to reclaim her power and her place on the throne.

2. The Hunger Games

Step into the futuristic nation of Panem, where twelve districts are kept in line with the annual Hunger Games, a fight to the death on live TV.

3. The Songs of Penelope

From the multi-award-winning author Claire North comes a daring reimagining that breathes life into ancient myth and gives voice to the women who stand defiant in a world ruled by ruthless men. It’s time for the women of Ithaca to tell their tale . . .

This is the story of Penelope of Ithaca, famed wife of Odysseus, as it has never been told before. Beyond Ithaca’s shores, the whims of gods dictate the wars of men. But on the isle, it is the choices of the abandoned women—and their goddesses—that will change the course of the world.

4. The Scorched Throne

In this Egyptian-inspired debut fantasy, a fugitive queen strikes a deadly bargain with her greatest enemy and finds herself embroiled in a complex game that could resurrect her scorched kingdom or leave it in ashes forever.

5. The Luna Sisters

Three intrepid Mexican heiresses take London Society by storm as they find their happily ever afters.

6. Hidden Royals

Two young princesses and a prince are forced to flee their home and live a new life and find love in Regency England.

7. Rook & Rose

Ren is a con artist who has come to the sparkling city of Nadežra with one goal: to trick her way into a noble house, securing her fortune and her sister’s future.

But as she’s drawn into the elite world of House Traementis, she realizes her masquerade is just one of many surrounding her. And as nightmare magic begins to weave its way through the City of Dreams, the poisonous feuds of its aristocrats and the shadowy dangers of its impoverished underbelly become tangled…with Ren at their heart.

8. The Sacred Stones

The fate of the world rests in the hands — and heart — of Arwen Valondale in the viral sensation Sacred Stones series.

9. An Ember in the Ashes

Set in a rich, high-fantasy world inspired by ancient Rome, Sabaa Tahir’s AN EMBER IN THE ASHES told the story of Laia, a slave fighting for her family, and Elias, a young soldier fighting for his freedom.

10. Matthews Brothers

Small town romantic comedy series, featuring the Matthews brothers.

  1. I actually have the Jasad Heir on my October TBR and the covers for the Luna Sisters are stunning and now I shall be purchasing all of them to hopefully read them soon. Thank you for contributing to my addiction.

  2. I’m disappointed in myself! I’ve only read The Hunger Games off your list but I need to finish or start the rest of these as they’re on my TBR already 🤣 Glad to hear that they had satisfying endings though. Great list, Julie!

  3. Well I am kicking myself. I cannot believe I forgot about half of your list on my list. LOL. The Drowning Empire, Songs of Penelope, and Scorched Throne were favorites.

  4. Haven’t read any of those- from that list, dislike Hunger Game (dislike dystopian and the premise of those games)

Believe it or not, most series of mine are in the world of MG expect for a few

  5. Great list, Julie! I love the Luna sisters trilogy, and Rook and Rose is an all time favourite of mine. I really need to pick up the sequel to the Jasad Heir because everyone is raving about it.
