End of the Year Book Tag

Happy Wednesday! Today, I’m doing the End of the Year Book Tag which was created by Booktuber Ariel Bisset. I can’t believe it’s already the end of the year! Where did the time go? I feel like it was just summer, and now I’m getting ready for the holidays. lol

I was tagged by the fabulous Becky over at Becky’s Book Blog. If you haven’t been to Becky’s blog, you should totally check it out. Becky always has amazing book recommendations, reviews, and fun bookish posts, and she’s an amazing person and book friend!

Are there any books you started this year that you still need to finish?

Yes!! I started A Taste of Poison but only read a couple of chapters before I got distracted with other book obligations. I won this in a giveaway and really liked what I read, so I’d like to finish it before the end of the year.

Do you have an autumnal book to transition into the end of the year?

I had a few books that felt like great transitions into autumn. Spells for Forgetting was super atmospheric and had some spooky, autumn vibes.

And The Ex Hex was a fun, witchy romance that I buddy read with Leslie & Dini.

Is there a new release you’re still waiting for?

There are a bunch, but these are the top three I’m still waiting for: Saint, A Wicked Game, and A Dash of Salt and Pepper – A YA fantasy, historical romance, and contemporary romance. They all sound so good!!

What are three books you want to read before the end of the year?

Other than the three above, I’d like to read a few more. I actually just started Pride & Puppies. It’s cute so far. And I’d really like to read A Lady’s Guide to Fortune Hunting and King of Battle and Blood.

Is there a book you think could still shock you and become your favourite book of the year?

I feel like Saint could be a possible favorite. I loved Fable and Namesake, and I’m super intrigued to read Saint’s story.

Plus, that cover is so gorgeous!

Double plus, I’m buddy reading it with Leslie & Dini, which is always super fun!

Have you already started making reading plans for 2023?

Definitely! I already have a couple of buddy reads planned, and I’ve already accepted ARCs for January, February, March , April, and July. Plus, I have my never-ending TBR that I’d like to make a dent in. lol Here are a few of the advanced copies I received that I plan on reading in January:

I’m not tagging anyone today, but if you decide to do this tag, I’d love to see it!

  1. “Spells for Forgetting” and “The Ex Hex” sound like interesting reads. I’m excited for “Clytemnestra,” too. And, I need to start reading Rebecca Ross’ books.

  2. Omg, I’m so sad that Saint won’t be coming out in UK Amazon until next year. 😮‍💨 I can’t wait to see what you think of it but I really hope you enjoy it, Julie. Also, I hope you love A Lady’s Guide to Fortune-Hunting. It has such great P&P vibes and I was obsessed! 😍 That Kosoko Jackson book looks fantastic as well and I need to add it to my TBR, lol.

    1. I think my copy of Saint is due to arrive tomorrow, but I’m waiting until you and Leslie get it before I read it. I literally bought A Lady’s Guide because of you and one other blogger. lol It sounds great!

  3. A Lady’s Guide to Fortune Hunting is on my tbr before the new year starts too!

  4. Great post, Julie! I’m also seriously excited for Divine Rivals, I love Ross’ writing, and definitely need to pick up Spells for Forgetting asap, especially with you saying how atmospheric it was. 😀
