Sundays in Bed With… The Bone Shard Daughter by Andrea Stewart

Happy Sunday! I’m back today with “Sundays in Bed With….” a meme that dares to ask what book has been in your bed this morning. Come share what book you’ve spent time curled up reading in bed, or which book you wish you had time to read today!  This meme was originally hosted by Midnight Book Girl.

Today, I’m in bed with The Bone Shard Daughter by Andrea Stewart. I received all three books in the series from Orbit Books, and I’m buddy-reading this one with Leah from Leah’s Books. We’re not too far in yet, but I’m enjoying it so far.

About the Book:

Synopsis: The emperor’s reign has lasted for decades, his mastery of bone shard magic powering the animal-like constructs that maintain law and order. But now his rule is failing, and revolution is sweeping across the Empire’s many islands.

Lin is the emperor’s daughter and spends her days trapped in a palace of locked doors and dark secrets. When her father refuses to recognize her as heir to the throne, she vows to prove her worth by mastering the forbidden art of bone shard magic.

Yet such power carries a great cost, and when the revolution reaches the gates of the palace, Lin must decide how far she is willing to go to claim her birthright – and save her people.
