Happy Sunday! I’m back today with “Sundays in Bed With….” a meme that dares to ask what book has been in your bed this morning. Come share what book you’ve spent time curled up reading in bed, or which book you wish you had time to read today! This meme was originally hosted by Midnight Book Girl.
Today, I’m in bed with two very different stories. First, I’m reading More Than a Good Friend by Remi Carrington. This is a sweet, small-town, friends-to-lovers contemporary romance. I’m also doing a buddy read with Leah from Leah’s Book for House of Marionne. I’m hoping to get to about 50% today.
About More Than a Good Friend:

Title: More Than A Good Friend
Author: Remi Carrington
Page Length: 259
Publication Date: June 6, 2023
Synopsis: In high school I made a deal with my best friend. If neither of us were married by 35, we’d marry each other.
We haven’t spoken about it since. So when he proposes at our party, I walk away. I’ve loved him forever, but he is just making good on a deal.
I deserve better than that.
So I get on every dating app I can, and vow to change things. I’ll meet someone new and forget about how much I love my best friend.
That’s my plan.
But it veers a little off course when he gets protective about my dates and goes out of his way to spend time with me.
I’m not sure what to think anymore.

Synopsis: RICH IS THE BLOOD OF THE CHOSEN.
17 year-old Quell has lived her entire life on the run. She and her mother have fled from city to city, in order to hide the deadly magic that flows through Quell’s veins.
Until someone discovers her dark secret.
To hide from the assassin hunting her, and keep her mother out of harm’s way, Quell reluctantly inducts into a debutante society of magical social elites called the Order that she never knew existed. If she can pass their three rites of membership, mastering their proper form of magic, she’ll be able to secretly bury her forbidden magic forever.
If caught, she will be killed.
But becoming the perfect debutante is a lot harder than Quell imagined, especially when there’s more than tutoring happening with Jordan, her brooding mentor and— assassin in training.
When Quell uncovers the deadly lengths the Order will go to defend its wealth and power, she’s forced to choose: embrace the dark magic she’s been running from her entire life or risk losing everything, and everyone, she’s grown to love.
Still, she fears the most formidable monster she’ll have to face is the one inside.
Are either of these on your TBR? What are you reading today? Comment below!
Let me know what you think of J. Elle’s upcoming novel. I haven’t been able to get a galley of it and it sounds very intriguing!
I will! So far, I have mixed feelings, but I still have 25% to read.
Yeah off course book is a good companion in leisure time. Reading books is a good hobby and specially on weekend I love it.
