Happy Thursday! Today, I’m doing The Romance Reader Book Tag. This tag was originally created by Romance Queen of Booktube and The Bookish Knitter. and I was tagged by the fabulous Dini @ Dini Panda Reads.
I’m a sucker for a swoon-worthy romance, and it is definitely my most read genre, so this tag is right up my alley! Historical, paranormal, rom-com, romantasy – you name it, and I’ll read it!

What age did you start reading romance novels?

Ooof, I have no idea! I was young, for sure. lol Like Dini, I can remember reading the Sweet Valley High series, and I loved the romances in it even though they were not the main focus of the series. By the time I got to high school, I was hooked on Danielle Steel, Maeve Binchy, Nora Roberts, and Jude Deveraux.
If you could pick one hero to meet from your favourite romance novels, who would it be and why?

RHYSAND. I want to meet him, marry him, and have a bunch of little bat babies. lol He’s always the first character that pops in my mind when this question is asked.
Who are your favourite romance authors and why?
I don’t even know where to begin with this question. lol Most of the books I read are romances, and I have a A LOT of favorite authors. Tessa Bailey, Sarah J. Maas, Danielle L. Jensen, Heather Frost, Lynsay Sands. Jennifer L. Armentrout, Melissa Oliver, Abby Jimenez, Dylan Newton, Karen Marie Moning… the list goes on and on. All of these authors write swoon-worthy romances, and I love their writing styles, characters, and so much more.
What is your favourite romance novel to re-read?

What book would you recommend to a non-romance reader?

Which is your favourite: contemporary, suspense, or historical and why?
It depends on my mood, I think. I read all sub-genres of romances, but I would say I read historical, contemporary, paranormal, and romantasy the most. I think I like them because, with the exception of contemporaries, the books take you to a different time or place, which I always enjoy.
I Tag:
Anyone who wants to give this tag a try. It was a lot of fun!
LOL, a bunch of little bat babies! 😂 Pride and Prejudice is definitely my favourite to re-read and I think one day I want to give re-reading Song of Achilles a go. I think Hart & Mercy is a great newbie to romance rec. I loved reading your answers, Julie! 💜
Hahaha – bat babies for the win! I recently reread Song of Achilles and loved as much as I did the first time.
Can’t wait to read Hello Stranger!
It’s so good, Joanna! I have a feeling you’ll enjoy it. 🙂
I love this tag! It’s so fun to see people’s responses. I think Hart and Mercy is a fantastic rec for non-romance readers. I also started my adult romance journey with Nora Roberts.
It was such a fun tag to do. I used to be obsessed with Nora Roberts and Danielle Steel. lol And thank you! Hart and Mercy has so much more than the romance. I think non romance readers would still enjoy it. Happy reading! 🙂
I tried to steer away from the romantasy for this tag because it would have taken over my whole post. LOL! Danielle Steel was where I cut my teeth with adult romance. Nora Roberts was next and then I made my way to Jude Deveraux as well.
All three authors have so many books to choose from. They were my go-to’s for a long time!
A Court of Thorn and Roses was my first introduction to romantasy. I’ve been reading strictly fantasy lately and I burned myself out. After reading mostly horror throughout the summer I’ve finally returned back to romantasy and it feels like coming home lol.
It does for me to. I often switch to rom-coms or historical romances in between romantasies and fantasy just for a little break.
Well, don’t really know if I am a romance reader or not. The reason being- hard to spot romance in a book for me. However, I know some romance novels I have read- The Princess Bride is a top favorite (despite too long chapters)- a story of true love, adventure, and miracles
The Princess Bride is great!
I love this tag, but I can’t come up with answers to all these questions. The first one made me smile. When I was a tween (maybe 12 or 13) I read True Story, True Romance, True Confession magazines. I think that started my enjoyment of romance stories.
I haven’t heard of those magazines but love that they started you on your romance journey!
You’re probably too young, Julie. They are vintage now.
I love this tag! It’s so interesting seeing everyone’s responses! (P.S: Pride & Prejudice 🫶🫶)
