Synopsis:

Cole Matthews definitely isn’t a stalker. Probably.

Sure, he used company resources and crossed some lines to “have a conversation” with his sister’s abusive ex. But that was a one-time thing. Now, Cole has to attend a group therapy program with a long, clinical name…but the participants? They call it Stalkers Anonymous.

Hailey Brigham is definitely dating the perfect man. Probably.

She’d love to focus more attention on Cole, the smoking hot, ex-military sweetheart whose idea of a casual second date is tandem skydiving. But a drug-seeking patient at the ER where she’s a second-year resident knows too much about Hailey’s personal life, and his fixation on her is getting harder to ignore.

When threats against Hailey escalate, Cole’s protective instincts go into overdrive. To keep her safe, he would do anything―even if it means becoming the monster he’s kept so carefully locked up inside.

Stalkers Anonymous is a dark rom-com with a morally gray hero, a fierce heroine, and a found family of misfits you won’t see coming (unless they want you to).

Review

I really enjoyed Stalkers Anonymous! Cole is an ex-military guy who gets sent to a therapy group for stalking after using company resources to deal with his sister’s abusive ex. Of course, he insists he isn’t actually a stalker, which makes the whole Stalkers Anonymous situation even better. I really liked his character, especially the way his protective instincts and tendency to cross boundaries played into the story. The group itself was also a lot of fun, and I really enjoyed the secondary characters and the found-family dynamic that developed between them.

Cole and Hailey are great together, too. Hailey is a strong heroine who can take care of herself, while Cole is very much the “I’m going to protect you whether you asked me to or not” type. Their relationship was sweet, and I liked the chemistry between them. I also appreciated that Cole’s issues weren’t magically fixed just because he fell in love. He actually has to confront some of his behavior and work through his own problems, which gave his character more depth than I expected.

The suspense added to the plot, especially as Hailey’s patient becomes increasingly obsessed with her and the situation starts getting more dangerous. I also liked that the story went in a couple of directions I wasn’t expecting. There were a few twists that genuinely surprised me, and I enjoyed trying to figure out what was actually going on as everything unfolded.

Overall, this was a fun mix of romance, suspense, humor, and some darker moments. It wasn’t quite as dark as I expected, which actually worked for me, and I really liked the balance between the romance and the suspense. I’m definitely curious to see where things go next, especially with this group of characters, so I’ll be picking up the next book.

About the Author

Dana LeeAnn lives for the dark side of romance—the stalkier, the better. She originally used writing as an outlet to heal herself, but found it addictive, and has never stopped. Her books are packed with suspense and questionable love interests that will leave your heart racing at the turn of every page. When she’s not dreaming up new ways to torture her characters (and readers), she can be found in northern Colorado, exploring the mountains or dragging her husband into a new project around the house.
