Page Length: 358

Publication Date: June 28, 2022

Synopsis: Baz Cormac never intended to be a rogue, but fate had other ideas.

Being forced to pledge loyalty to the evil Morrigan is its own kind of hell. So when Baz discovers the lie she’s used to keep him and his band of rogues under her power, he concocts a plan to force the goddess’s hand, which drops him in the center of a cosmic tug-o-war. No matter which way he leans, someone is going to lose—and it looks like that someone may be Baz.

A talisman fights her fate…and her fatal attraction.

Delaney Ferrell has spent her life trying to live down her uncle’s choice to turn rogue. As a warrior-talisman hybrid, she’s done her best to serve the warrior community as a protector. But a cryptic letter sends her to an abandoned home where she encounters a lone rogue with fighting skills no rogue should possess. Instead of killing her, he kidnaps her and takes her to his lair. He presents a terrible danger to the community, one she must neutralize.

So why does he have to be so damn charming?

Discovering Delaney is his fated mate throws all of Baz’s plans into chaos. And when the goddesses come calling, Baz has to choose between a rogue’s freedom and a talisman’s love.

Will they have a chance at love, or will they be torn apart?

My Review:

Rogue is an exciting, action-packed, and steamy paranormal romance and the sixth book in The Talisman Series by Tam DeRudder Jackson. The story follows Baz, a warrior who turned rogue and pledged himself to Morrigan, as his only other option was to go into hiding. When Baz discovers Morrigan lied to and deceived him, Baz devises a plan to defeat her. But his life is turned upside down when, against all odds, he finds his talisman.

Baz and Delaney have an intense romance! Since they are fated mates, they have an instant connection, and they become intimate quickly. Get a fan, friends, because Delaney and Baz have some super swoon-worthy, steamy times! I love how this pair challenges each other and how seamlessly they work together. They’re both pretty badass, and they make a great team.

Having a talisman changes everything for Baz. He can return home and see his family without putting them in danger or risking a battle with someone he loves. But Baz is a warrior and leader, and he wants to continue on that path. He and Delaney face so many challenges both individually and as a couple. Delaney has lived with the fact that her uncle went rogue, and it affected her family deeply. So, being mated to a rogue comes with extra complications for Delaney and Baz. I like that the story includes both Baz and Delaney’s perspectives. You really get to understand their thoughts and feelings and why they make certain decisions.

The story has a ton of heart-pounding action and great world-building. It’s so easy to become immersed in this magical and paranormal world steeped in Celtic mythology, especially with all of the high-stakes situations Delaney and Baz find themselves in as they are confronted with a powerful and power-hungry antagonist. Morrigan is so manipulative and deceitful as she attempts to pit Baz and Delaney against each other. Her evil machinations add so much suspense and intrigue to the story, and her manipulations create much of the conflict and chaos. The secondary characters are also intriguing, and as many of them have prominent roles in previous books in the series, I think I need to go back and read them all!

I would definitely recommend this book to readers who enjoy suspenseful paranormal romance. The characters are dynamic, the story is layered, and the romance is steamy!! Thanks so much to Tam DeRudder Jackson for sending me a copy of the book. All thoughts are my own.
