Synopsis: Frenemies + Fake Dating = Falling for the wrong person…for all the right reasons

Charity Simmons may have great taste in friends, felines, and fruit tarts, but if there’s one thing the baker and co-owner of Meow and Furever Cat Café knows, it’s that she has horrible taste in men. Case in point: Will Schwartz. He may be the best friend of her best friend’s boyfriend, but after their one night together, Charity is positive Will’s nothing but a womanizing charmer—despite his nice-guy persona and adorable, crooked smile. So why then did she pick him to fake-date to get her parents off her back about being single?

Will Schwartz may give relationships a hard pass, but he’s not about to say no to fake-dating Charity. She’s brilliant, hilarious, and best of all, she’ll put an end to his mother’s interrogations about his love life. And maybe, after all this time giving him the cold shoulder, Charity will finally warm up to him. But it’s not long before Will and Charity realize they got much more than they bargained for–and they’re freaking out. What if what they have isn’t make believe but the real, forever kind of love?

My Review:

Finding Mr. Purrfect is a sequel to A Cat Cafe Christmas, which I read and enjoyed last year. The story takes place after the end of the last book and follows the respective best friends of the original couple. Cat cafe owner Charity falls for her best friend’s boyfriend’s best friend, who has sworn off committed relationships.

Charity is independent, intelligent, and hilarious, with a fun career and a fake dating romance that develops into something more. With family pressure to find someone, having a fake partner is the perfect solution for Charity, and Will is a great fake boyfriend. I liked Will. He puts up a front and pretends to be really outgoing. Often, he’s seen as a womanizer and a charmer, but he works hard to prove to Charity that he is so much more than that. The couple has great banter and chemistry, which I enjoyed.

I also really like how, much like the first book, the chapters include cat-themed information at the start of each chapter. It’s so charming and adds to the feline fantasticness of the story. This is definitely a fun read for cat lovers! I also think it’s interesting to see how Charity and Will, two independent people, struggle with family and work pressures. This pushes both to lie about different aspects of their life, and the constant criticism and pressure puts a big strain on their family relationships and careers. Will and Charity show a lot of personal growth as they work through their problems.

A cute and fun story, Finding Mr. Purrfect is a sweet read for contemporary romance and rom-com readers!

About the Author:

From the time I could put a Disney Book cassette into my little stereo, and read along, books have held a fantastic distraction. When I was eleven, I decided I wanted to be one of those magical people that brought stories to life. Devouring a book a day sometimes, my first romance novel stuck with me. I’ve always been a sucker for a happy ending (and the great romantic gesture)and that’s what I try to put into my stories.
