I’m so happy to be on the blog tour today for A Highlander to Protect Her, the fourth book in the Secrets of Clan Cameron historical romance series. This was as good as the first three books in the series, and I’m really enjoying the overarching plot and the swoon-worthy romances.

A Highlander to Protect Her follows Kenna Hay as she journeys across Scotland to find out about her mother and the family secrets she took with her when she left the family years ago. Rolf Cameron is a Highlander sworn to protect Kenna, and his family has secrets of their own that Rolf needs to discover. Of course, Kenna doesn’t know this when they first meet, and though she’s determined to keep him at arm’s length (as is he), neither can deny their growing feelings for the other.

Kenna and Rolf are both interesting and dynamically developed protagonists with compelling stories. Their journey has mystery, suspense, action, and a few surprising twists as they travel together and unravel the secrets kept by both of their families. Right from the start, there’s a high-stakes feel to Kenna’s story, and I was hooked.

Kenna is a strong woman who goes through so much over the course of the story, and her tenacity and bravery shine as she makes discovery after discovery. Rolf is fascinating too, and I sympathized with him and what he went through in his past. Both characters have closed themselves off to love, but their connection is undeniable, and their chemistry is fantastic! I love how they slowly begin to care for each other, and there are several scenes that made my heart melt.

I would definitely recommend this book to readers who enjoy historical romance. Though it’s part of a series, it can definitely be read as a standalone. It’s a swoon-worthy story with a unique plot, compelling characters, and a wonderful romance!
