Synopsis:

A consummate rake pursues his perfect match in this charming new series featuring three of the ton’s most eligible gentlemen, set in the delightful world of bestselling author Ella Quinn’s much-loved Worthingtons and their extended family—where true love is the ultimate temptation . . .

Leo, Duke of Chandos, can’t quite believe it. After many mistresses, and much mischief and merriment, he’s fallen head-over-heels for his best friend’s sister, Lady Theo Vivers. Now that she’s come out, Leo is ready to give up his wild bachelorhood for wedded bliss. Yet despite his attentions, Theo regards him at best as a friend, —at worst, as a brother. Determined to persuade her otherwise, he perseveres through the Season’s most grueling social events . . .

Theo is quite aware that Leo is irresistibly handsome, charming . . . and decidedly unsuitable husband material. She also happens to know of his vow not to marry until he is much older. So, when a compromising folly leads him to announce they are betrothed, Theo dismisses it as the kind act of a friend—and assures him she will liberate them from the situation. Until then, she must play along—while hoping to interest two far more appropriate matches.

But between misunderstandings, romantic rivals, and a risky move that will put more than Leo’s reputation on the line, the time they spend together as an engaged couple begins showing Theo just how devoted—and tempting—this allegedly reformed rogue can be . . .

Review

Catching Lady Theo is the second book in the Here Come the Grooms series, which is an extension of the Worthington world. The story follows Leo, the Duke of Chandos, who has fallen hard for Lady Theo Vivers, his best friend’s sister. Now that she is out in society, he is ready to prove he is serious. Theo sees him as a friend and nothing more, which makes watching Leo try to win her over both charming and entertaining.

Theo is a great FMC. She is smart, compassionate, and kind, and I liked that she has her own opinions about the world instead of just going along with what is expected of her. She’s perfect for Leo, who has been crushing on her for quite a while. I love the “he falls first” trope, and Leo falls hard! He is so smitten with her and is super worried about being put in the friend zone because of his past. Leo is a reformed rake with a past, and he is determined to show everyone, especially Theo, that he’s changed. At first, I wasn’t sure I would like him, but he proved to be a swoon-worthy MMC, and I really enjoyed the love story between him and Theo.

Theo and Leo have so much chemistry, and their banter is full of humor, teasing, and a ton of sexual tension. Theo doesn’t fall for Leo right away since she thinks he is a consummate rake and not husband material. She needs to see that Leo has truly changed, and I loved watching Leo put in the effort to prove he’s serious about her and committed to her. There is some tension from outside troublemakers and a few situations where things get complicated for Leo and Theo, and it gives both characters chances to show what they truly mean to each other.

I also have to mention the Worthington family. They are such a loving and supportive and boisterous family, and I just love how much they love each other. There are a lot of names and connections, and reading the Worthington series and the first book in this series will definitely give context as far as characters and their relationship dynamics. That being said, I haven’t read all of the related books, and I still followed everything pretty easily. If anything, the little glimpses into other couples made me curious about their stories, too.

Special thanks to TLC Book Tours and Kensington Books for sending me a copy of the book. All thoughts are my own.
