Synopsis:

Night Witch is the sequel to the instant New York Times bestseller Spellcaster with an intense enemies-to-lovers arc, a steamy heat level, magical creatures, super high stakes, and an epic family saga.

Be careful what you witch for.

Welcome to year two at Weatherstone College…

Last year, after coming face to face with darkness and lethal monsters, Logan Kingston, my sworn enemy and sometimes ally, brought my first year to an explosive ending. There’s a bond between us that I can’t explain, but I just know he’s hiding something. Maybe I don’t fully trust any spellcaster, but there’s no denying my draw to him.

I’m not going to lie, I haven’t felt myself since then, and I’m dreading returning to Weatherstone.

Review

This was such a fantastic read and a great ending to the duology. I love the direction it went with the characters and plot, and the romance is positively swoon-worthy with some major fated mates, touch her and die vibes.

Paisley goes through so much over the course of the story, and she learns a lot about herself, her past, her powers, and the world she lives in. A lot has changed for her, including her relationship with Logan. And I love that Logan finally feels like he can let his guard down with her, and he shows her who he is beyond the morally grey, secretive man she met at school. There is so much more to him than meets the eye, and he is, by far, my favorite character in the duology. It was moving to see a different, more personal and intimate side to him.

The romance is positively swoon-worthy! We knew at the end of the first book that there was more to Paisley and Logan’s connection and that their relationship was going to change, and it sure did. Tender, passionate, vulnerable, and SPICY, they are in a totally different place than they were in the first book, and though there are still obstacles working against them, there’s really no getting between the pair. Logan works hard to gain Paisley’s trust and prove his love and commitment to her, and boy, does he succeed. My word, the way this man woos her is just so wonderful, and thoughtful, and the depth of his feelings just melted my heart. Theirs is an epic love story, and I absolutely adored it, even more so than the first book. And we learn a lot about their past and their connection, which makes the relationship even more poignant.

There are a couple of other blossoming relationships that were great, too, and I love Paisley’s family and the ever-growing found family. They all have such strong bonds, even through all of their challenges. These relationships are definitely put to the test, with secrets and changing lives, and it’s interesting to see how each character deals with the obstacles.

I really enjoyed this book and the duology as a whole. It’s entertaining, suspenseful, and romantic with an intriguing magical world and a bunch of political intrigue within a dark academia setting.
