The wrath of the black wolf is unleashed…in this scorching finale of New York Times bestselling author N.J. Walters’s enticingly sexy Lone Wolf Legacy series

I am an immortal predator, driven to hunt and protect the wolf packs from danger—especially rogue wolves. This destiny is my blood, my bone. My will.

There are two other lone wolves—one gray, one white—but I am the strongest. The most powerful. And we all share an enemy, who set a trap for each of a woman with our coloring who will draw us into danger and make our wolves howl with need.

But I won’t give in to lust or passion.

I already know the face of the woman who is my supposed a stunning and powerful mage named Onyx. We’ve been circling each other, wary, fueled by deeply intense attraction and fierce distrust.

But the enemy of my enemy is my ally…for now. It’s a brief truce, laced with raw, primal hunger.
Because when this is over—if we survive—we’ll have to go head-to-head one last time.

And I never lose.

MY THOUGHTS ON TEMPTING THE BLACK WOLF:

This is the finale of the Lone Wolf Legacy and follows Dagen Kern, the most powerful of the lone wolves, and Onyx, a mage tied to the Black Wolf. I was so curious about Dagen since the first book when we got hints about his identity. He’s mysterious and dangerous, and his story is intriguing, though I wish it delved a bit more into his backstory. Onyx is fantastic! She’s fierce and powerful, and her backstory is heartbreaking. She’s gone through so much, and I really felt for her.

The story has a good mix of romance, suspense, and action, and it was great to finally learn the full story behind the wolves, their connection, and Solange’s plan. Of course, the romance is my favorite part. It’s sexy and filled with chemistry, and I may have needed a fan a time or two. lol The final battle was also pretty epic and intense!

I would definitely recommend checking out the content warnings before starting this book, as there are some scenes that could be difficult for some readers. Also, to fully grasp the context of the story, it would be better to start from the first book, though I think it could be read as a standalone. Special thanks to Entangled for providing me with a copy of the book. All thoughts are my own.

About the Author

Once upon a time N.J. had the idea that she would like to quit her job at the bookstore, sell everything she owned, leave her hometown, and write romance novels in a place where no one knew her. And she did. Two years later, she went back to the bookstore and her hometown and settled in for another seven years.

One day she gave notice at her job on a Friday morning. On Sunday afternoon, she received a tentative acceptance for her first erotic romance novel and life would never be the same.

N.J. Walters is a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author who has always been a voracious reader, and now she spends her days writing novels of her own. Vampires, werewolves, dragons, time-travelers, seductive handymen, and next-door neighbors with smoldering good looks—all vie for her attention. It’s a tough life, but someone’s got to live it.

MY THOUGHTS ON THE HIGHLANDER’S UNTAMED TEMPEST:

The fifth and final book in The Brothers of Wolf Isle series, this is Eagan and Tessa’s story. I liked both characters! Eagan is super swoon-worthy, and Tessa is bold and brave and so endearing. She has a way about her that makes people want to gravitate to her, and you can tell why Eagan falls for her so quickly.

The romance is a bit insta-love, but it made sense with the faster-paced plot. Between the pirates, the family curse, and a few other surprises, there aren’t many dull moments for Tessa and Eagan. And I love that we get to see all of the other main characters from the previous books and some secondary ones as well. I’ve enjoyed all of the books and revisiting some favorite couples is always so fun! They have a strong family unit, and to see all they’ve accomplished together is lovely.

If you haven’t read other books in the series, you could probably read this one as a standalone. It’s engrossing and romantic, and there’s so much suspense and action mixed in with some incredibly touching and heartwarming moments.
