I won To Bed the Bride in a Goodreads Giveaway and was intrigued by the cute little dog in the corner of the cover. As I had never read a book by Karen Ranney, I enthusiastically dove in. I love reading books by newfound authors, and this one didn’t disappoint.
I must admit, I am a sucker for historical romance, so this novel is right up my alley, and though it is the third book in the All for Love Series, it can be read as a stand-alone. I didn’t read the first two books in the series, and I easily followed the story.
Elanor Craig of Hearthmere lives a life that most only dream of. The neice of a wealthy businessman and owner of her own property, Elanor is also engaged to a young and handsome Earl.
But Elanor lives in London and desperately misses her home in Scotalnd – a home she is only allowed to visit for one month each year. While visiting Hearthmere, Elanor meets Logan, and the sparks fly.
Though at first they don’t seem to get along, the chemistry is instantaneous. Logan is intrigued by Elanor, and when he delivers a surprise to her home, their lives become irrevocably entwined.
When Elanor returns to London and her insufferable family, she feels smothered. That is, until Logan reenters her life. With Logan, Elanor is herself with no front or protocol.
As the couple grows closer and closer, they must decide what is more important – obligation to family or love.
I absolutely loved this story! The characters are well-developed, and the story is engrossing. I enjoyed watching the love story between Elanor and Logan unfold.
And I adored their furry little connection!
Bruce is a rambunctious puppy that teaches Elanor how to love and trust again. He is the bright spot in her otherwise dreary life. Orphaned at a young age and surrounded by vapid, greedy, and selfish relatives, Elanor learns to love and fight for herself with the help of Bruce and Logan.
